 Speaker Profile

 

   Janske van Eijck MSc., General Manager, Diligent Tanzania Ltd

Janske van Eijck, manager at Diligent Tanzania ltd. and partly for Diligent Energy Systems, has a lot of experience with biofuel projects. She holds a BSc. in sustainable technologies, and has done her graduation project in India on the subject of biofuels. She continued her studies at the University of Technology in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, at the faculty of Technology Management (Technology and Policies for Developing Economies). She wrote her Masters thesis on biofuel projects in Tanzania. This thesis has won the second price in the 'best African thesis award' and will be published shortly by the 'Africa study Centre, Leiden'.
Besides activities in Arusha, Tanzania, she is also active in other small researches, consultancy assignments or presentations. Recently she has done a research on the analysis of the biofuel market in the Mtwara/Lindi regions of Tanzania and has done an explorative research in Uganda. She regularly gives presentations, amongst others recently in Morocco and for the United Nations in Arusha. 'It's a great challenge to become the best and biggest biofuel company in Tanzania, but if i see the positive reactions of the farmers when we pay them for the Aseeds they have picked, i can see there is a bright future for biofuels in Tanzania, but also in other countries worldwide.'
